Friday; Day 1…. Arrival and Valley Walk

A friendly face to meet you at the airport and transport you to your accommodation.

A little time to unpack followed by a light lunch.
We’ll take a gentle post lunch valley walk around the beautiful village of Lliber with its wonderfully cobbled paths, streets adorned with flowers and great views of the valley and its vineyards.

A trip to a local Bodega for wine tasting and tapas completes your first day.
Saturday; Day 2….Jalon to Parcent via Col de Rates

After breakfast we will take a stunning lane walk starting in the historic Jalon, famous for its Riu Raus (The arched front building used for scalding the grapes to make raisins) and its award winning wine production. The route meanders amongst the almond, orange and olive groves.

We continue through Alcalali onto Parcent and we will take the ‘route of the raisins’ (Ruta de Pansa) a gentle mountain walk up to Col de Rates where we will stop for a packed lunch with 360 degree views of the whole area ending with a forested walk back into Jalon.

We finish the day with a BBQ at your accommodation.

Sunday; Day 3….The Villages of Vall de Laguar

It is a popular area for walkers as it has a wealth of history, stunning scenery and amazing views. We'll take in some of the countryside from Fleix before heading up the most well known mountain around here; El Penyo including the Caballo de Verde Ridge. Monday; Day 4…..Parcent to Murla including Fontilles

We'll take an easy lanes walk from Parcent (said to be, by Gabriel Miro a famous Spanish writer, paradise between the mountains) to Murla which is now a sleepy village but was once the thriving capital of Vall de Pop containing the main watchtower for the whole area and has the oldest church in the Valencian region from the 14th century.
Includes an optional mountain walk to the recently restored Orba castle.

We'll take in a historical trip to the Fontilles Sanatorium, a fascinating self contained village surrounded by a 3.5km wall originally opened in 1909 to prevent the spread of leprosy but is now used for palliative care and continued research.
